A Time Travel to the Past

Prehistoric Pottery and Indigenous Peoples’ Pottery

Human activities such as water delivering, food cooking, or ceremonial activities like spiritual worship and grave goods could not do without pottery since the Neolithic. Up until now, we can still often find the use of pottery in our daily life.

With the theme of “A Time Travel to the Past” in this exhibition hall, we are going to guide you through the prehistoric culture and the indigenous culture of Taiwan, as well as the art of contemporary ceramics. First, we will introduce the features, shapes, patterns, and the usage of Taiwanese prehistoric pottery, then we will walk you through the past and to the present via exploring the traditional indigenous pottery culture and the innovation of contemporary ceramic art.
