Ceramic Murals: Apprenticeship Exhibition of the Department of Ceramics Engineering, Yingge Vocational High School
Apprenticeship is one of the most iconic programs at the Department of Ceramics Engineering, Yingge Vocational High School. This year’s exhibition centers around public art in the form of ceramic murals, in combination with tea ceremony demonstrations and hand-made teapots. The exhibition features the achievements of the students of Class 2023 after studying for one year with 19 masters in ceramics and tea ceremony.
From ideation, design, to creation, each piece is based on the specialty of a master, presented in the form of ceramic murals. Whether the techniques involve glazing, casting, painting, Cochin ware, ceramic plates, hand-forming, or sculpting, each piece demonstrates the unique expertise of each master, making this exhibition an innovative showcase.
After studying with masters for a year, the students have progressed even further in this ceramic mural project. After the exhibition, these works will be installed on the Ceramics Engineering Department Building at Yingge Vocational High School as a permanent exhibit. Combining students’ achievements and public art, the mural will become an aesthetic experience that merges art and life on campus.
