New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum 2025 Application Exhibition
1. Purpose:
In alignment with global and local developments in ceramic culture, the New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum (hereinafter referred to as “the Museum”) is committed to fostering diverse expressions and the sustained advancement of ceramic art. To this end, the Museum is calling for submissions of ceramic exhibition proposals from Taiwan and abroad, offering a professional platform for artistic presentation and international exchange.
2. Organizer:

3. Entry criteria:
(1) Any individual, group or curator, who are engaged in ceramic art and ceramics production in taiwan or abroad.
(2) Any applicant who has not applied for a solo exhibition nor arranged to exhibit in the museum within the last 2 years.
(3) The proposed entry should not be the result of a graduation exhibition or a class presentation of any institution, school or association.
(4) The application is limited to one proposal once within the year. The applicant is not allowed to apply for a solo exhibition and participate in joint exhibitions in the Museum at the same time.
4. Exhibition venue: The Sunlight Gallery on the first floor and the Ceramics Hallway in the basement level 1 of the Museum. Please see attachments for site specifications and floor plan. The Museum reserves the right to make the final decision on the arrangement.
5. Time of the exhibition:
(1) The exhibition period is scheduled for the year 2027, covering three exhibitions in the Sunlight Gallery on the first floor and six exhibitions in the Ceramics Hallway in the basement level 1. Each exhibition period lasts for about 4 weeks, excluding days for installation and dismantling. Installation is generally allocated 1 to 2 days, and dismantling is typically limited to 1 day.
(2) The opening hours of the exhibition venue are in accordance with the regular Museum hours.
(3) The exhibition time is subject to major events held by the government authorities. The Museum will notify the candidates and coordinate any changes in the exhibition schedule.
6. Exhibition guidelines:
(1) Artwork specifications: No set theme or subject is required for the exhibition. The size of a single work (including packing materials) must not exceed L120 cm x W120 cm x H200 cm, and the weight should be under 1200 kg. As for installation work, the size is dependent on and limited by the exhibition space. The works should be made principally of clay (clay must constitute at least 50% of the material of the whole work).
(2) Three types of exhibitions – Solo, Group, or Curatorial
A. Solo exhibition: In which ceramic art works or ceramic functional ware are presented by the individual artist.
B. Group exhibition: In which ceramic art works or ceramic functional ware are presented by a group of artists.
C. Curatorial exhibition: Exhibition plan submitted by a curator or curatorial teams. The participant’s works may include artistic ceramics or industrial ceramics.
7. Application process:
(1) Materials required for the application:
A. Plan for exhibition (see Table 1)
B. Documents on the works to be displayed (see Table 2)
C. Personal Data Consent Form, Copyright Affidavit (see Table 3)
D. Digital images of the artworks. Preparation details are as follows:
a. Solo exhibition: At least half of the works in the exhibition submitted for review must have been created within the last two years and never have been exhibited in other public or private arts and cultural venues in Taiwan. Provide images of no more than 20 artworks. Pictures of artworks from various angles are welcomed. Maximum 60 pictures in total for the application.
b. Group exhibition: Most of the works submitted must not have been shown before in public or private venues, nor in any joint exhibition in Taiwan. Each member in the group should submit at least one work for review. Maximum 60 pictures for one application.
c. Picture format: The images should be in JPG format, clear, and true to the original work, 300dpi resolution, and 1-2 MB in file size. The definition should be 300dpi, 1-2MB and JPG format, please specify the artist, the title of the piece and its dimension.
E. Reference artworks from early times or other exhibitions are welcomed for the review by the jury.
(2) Submission period: December 1 (Mon.) 00:00 AM, 2025 to January 31 (Sat.) 23:59 PM, 2026. (GMT 8).
(3) Registration method:
A. The registration submission is made by email only.
B. The application form is available for download from the Museum website: http://www.ceramics.ntpc.gov.tw. Send your application materials to the email address ntpc60508@ntpc.gov.tw before the deadline. Please specify “Application for YCM Exhibition_Applicant’s Name” in the subject of the email. The registration is competed after receiving the confirmation letter.
8. Jury:
(1) The review process:
A. Preliminary selection: The Museum will review applications in paper document format. The applicants will be notified to amend any missing information in their applications within the time limit. Entrants who are not complying with the notice will be disqualified.
B. Secondary selection: The Museum will be in charge of forming a jury of 5 members that will include ceramics specialists, scholars and representatives from the Museum. The jury will make its final decision based on images of artworks, exhibition plan and other relevant materials provided.
(2) Announcement of results: The selection results will be announced by March 31 (Fri.), 2026 on the Museum website: http://www.ceramics.ntpc.gov.tw. The successful applicants will be notified via email.
9. Members of the jury shall recuse themselves if they have any of the following relations with any of the entrants:
(1) Being a spouse or ex-spouse, a blood relative within fourth degree of kinship, or an in-law within third degree of kinship of any of the entrants.
(2) Being a spouse or ex-spouse and joint obligee or joint obligor of any of the entrants.
(3) Being agent, assistant, or appraiser of any of the entrants.
10. Rights on the exhibition:
(1) The Museum will arrange the exhibition schedule and contact the successful applicants to sign an exhibition agreement. Exhibitors is required to submit their exhibition introduction, information on artwork and insurance amount, work images, exhibition layout plan and other relevant materials at least 4 months before the exhibition schedule.
(2) The exhibits of the application that have been approved by the jury should correspond to the application proposal. If any pieces of works are to be replaced, no more than 40% are allowed for each entrant, and only 20% for group or curatorial projects. The Museum may conduct a separate review as necessary.
(3) Most of the works or curatorial exhibition that have passed the review may not be exhibited at other public or private arts and cultural institutions in Taiwan before the exhibition time scheduled by the Museum.
(4) Artworks submitted must not violate the Copyright Act and related laws through plagiarism, imitation, commissioning, forgery, or copyright infringement of other works or individuals. In the event of any such violation, the entrant will bear full legal liability and will be disqualified. The Museum reserves the right to pursue legal action against any violation that may damage the reputation of the Museum.
(5) Transportation and insurance:
A. The transportation of the works is at the expenses of the applicant. Please pack your works securely. Applicants are fully responsible for any damage or loss during the transportation.
B. The insurance for the packaging, transportation, and the process during the installation and dismantling of the exhibition must be handled and borne by the exhibitors.
C. The Museum will cover the insurance for the artworks for the duration of the exhibition. the highest insurance value of each exhibition session is NT$2,000,000. Higher amount of insurance value will be at the expenses of the applicant. All works are insured on the basis of restoration.
D. The submitted art works will be examined for damages upon arrival. The Museum is only responsible for the safekeeping and insurance of intact works, counting from the start to the end of the exhibition period. The Museum shall not be liable for any damages due to fragile materials, poor structure of the installation, experimental work, nor any damages due to force majeure circumstances.
(6) Propaganda:
A. The successful applicants/artists should provide a text of 250 to 300 words as an exhibition or curation statement explaining their theme for the exhibition, as well as descriptions on the works (title, dimension, year of creation etc.). The Museum will be in charge of publishing press releases, introduction, illustration and other propaganda materials. Propaganda not produced by the Museum is not allowed in the exhibition venue.
B. The Museum is responsible for the design and production of exhibition propaganda and invitation cards. If the artist wishes to advertise outside the Museum, a sample of the content must be approved by the Museum before printing.
(7) Exhibition venue:
A. The artist is responsible for the setting of the exhibition and is requested to be on-site or arrange for assistants to help during the installation and demounting of the exhibition. The task must be executed in accordance with Museum regulations and accomplished with final confirmation from the Museum.
B. The Museum will be in charge of the arrangement of the displays. The exhibition venue provides pedestals of varying sizes. Artists in need of display equipment exceeding Museum specifications must bear all costs themselves. The design of the site will be decided by the successful applicants together with the Museum.
C. The successful applicants will plan the layout of the exhibition. The Museum reserves the right to make any adjustments to ensure the safety of the audience, the safety of the works, or any other safety issues in connection with the operation of the Museum.
D. The successful applicants shall be held liable for any damages to the exhibition venue if they did not follow the Museum regulations. The Museum reserves the right to withdraw any exhibits if any security issues should occur during set up.
(8) Exhibits:
A. Both the body and the glaze of the works must be fired in order to avoid damage. If any exhibits are exceedingly fragile or pose safety concerns upon evaluation, the Museum reserves the right to withdraw the exhibits from display.
B. The artwork is not available for sale during the exhibition period in the Museum. Price tags for the artworks or any other forms of commercial activities are prohibited during the exhibition. Any such violations will result in immediate withdrawal of the relevant entry works from the exhibition and a permanent ban of the entrant from future exhibition applications.
(9) Activities: If the exhibiting ceramists wish to plan an opening ceremony or tea party, please notify the Museum to get the necessary permissions and further assistance. Business activities and flower baskets or bouquets displayed at the exhibition venue are not allowed.
11. Restrictions:
(1) In case the successful applicant is unable to present his/her works on time or wants to give up the opportunity to exhibit the works in the Museum, notice should be submitted to the Museum six months before the exhibition.
(2) If the successful applicant is unable to provide the necessary information for the exhibition, he/she will be waiving his/her rights and will be banned from applying for any exhibition in the Museum for three years.
(3) In order to equally allocate the Museum’s resources, the successful applicant will not be accepted for future application of an exhibition in the Museum within two years.
12. For any matters not covered herein, the Organizing Committee of the Museum reserves the right to amend, withdrawn, and/or supplement part or the entire project if necessary. Any modifications will be announced on the official website at any time.
