Garden of Healing: Class of 2024 Apprenticeship Exhibition, Yingge Vocational High School

The exhibition is a showcase of achievements of Class of 2024 from the Department of Ceramics Engineering. The students’ three years of training in their apprenticeship with mentors of different specialties is combined with the school’s efforts in sharing high school facilities with the community - the “Sanxia-Yingge Experience Center for Aesthetic Education, Therapy, and Exploration.” This adds to the highlights in the community’s vision of shared prosperity by combining the apprenticeship program and campus improvement projects.

 The featured works are products of mentor-apprentice collaborations: Ceramics is merged with treehouses, and cute anthropomorphized parrots are used to convey a warm sense of community. Wishing fountains are also combined with hand-thrown and painted ceramics, decorated with ceramic mailboxes and small animals.

We can see aesthetics education integrated into the design concepts, benefiting campus aesthetics and bringing situational aesthetic education into campus life. The students apply their learning by making their works part of the campus landscape. We hope visitors can come to encourage and support our up-and-coming ceramicists.
